In Memory Of...

This page is dedicated to the memory of our former teammates that have passed away too soon, and to those of us left behind who miss them.

If you would like to share a photo or story about Jeff or Dave, please email us at wjhockeyinfo@gmail.com. We will be happy to post it.

JEFF COBB 2

Jeff Cobb #10

Forward, Class of 2007

A 2007 Washington & Jefferson College graduate and Captain, Cobb was a team leader on and off the ice. A member of the 2007 W&J ACHA Division 1 National Tournament Team, Cobb was the epitome of a total team player. He was a great fore-checker and often frustrated the opposing team’s breakout from the defensive zone. Jeff was also a player with excellent offensive skill who played with an immense edge and energy while also having the ability to put the puck in the net. Upon graduation from W&J, Cobb was employed by Gleim, Inc., an accounting company located in Gainesville, Florida. Jeff was also the head coach for the University of Florida’s ice hockey team during the 2010-11 season.

Dave Armitage

David Armitage #17

Forward, Class of 2002

In 2001 Dave helped the young Presidents hockey club to win its first league title, the CHE Championship, as one of only three seniors on the team. Dave was known for his smooth hands and quick release on his wrist shot which netted many crucial goals for the Presidents. Dave was also a star wide receiver for the Presidents football team. Post-graduation he enjoyed his time as a math teacher and football coach. Taken from us far too soon, he is dearly missed by both the W&J hockey and football families.
